About Pelagic
Thirty-two years on the tide
Founded in 1993 with a single pile-driving rig, Pelagic Construction has grown into one of Southern New England's most relied-upon marine contractors — still family-led, still self-performing.
Our story
Built one pile at a time
Pelagic Construction LLC began in a Quonset boatyard, driving piles for private docks by day and repairing the rig by night. Three decades later we run a full marine fleet — cranes, pile hammers, dredges, dive spreads — and deliver some of the region's most complex waterfront infrastructure.
We've never left the water. Every project we take sits at the edge of land and sea, and we've made our reputation on the part everyone else farms out: the foundations, the tidal work, and the build that has to hold for decades of salt, storm, and surge.

How we build
Four rules we don't bend
Self-perform the hard parts
We don't subcontract the work that makes or breaks a marine job. Pile driving, diving, formwork, and concrete are ours.
Engineer to the tide
Every schedule starts with the tide table. We work the window that protects the build and the crew.
Permitting is a feature, not a phase
CRMC, USACE, DEM, and coastal — we coordinate in-house so design and approvals stay aligned.
Build it for the next fifty years
Marine-grade materials, sacrificial systems where it matters, and details that outlast the warranty.
